How to Maintain your Inflatables
Inflatables are a great way to maximize your fun on the water. Inflatables are outdoor items, so normal wear is expected. But if you take proper care and stay on top of any repairs, they’ll last for seasons of fun to come. To keep your inflatables in good condition, check out the tips below from our experts.
Follow the manufacturer’s directions. Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions to assemble and inflate.
Dry your inflatable thoroughly before deflating it. When you’re finishing with your summer fun, drain all the water from your wet inflatable, but keep it inflated until it’s completely dry.
Ensure all of the air has been compressed out of your inflatable for storage. To evacuate the air quickly, walk around on it. Then fold all the pieces inward and compress the fabric as you roll it up tightly to expel any remaining air.
If you need to make a repair or patch a leak, do so while it’s deflated. Dry and clean the area you need to patch, then cut a patch from the material in the manufacturer’s provided patch kit. Be sure to cut the patch with rounded corners. Apply the patch to the inflatable and smooth out any air bubbles. Allow the inflatable to sit for 30 minutes before inflating it for use. Additional patch kits can always be purchased from the manufacturer.
Always store your inflatables inside during the winter. When the seasons change and it’s time to put your inflatable into storage, find an indoor location to protect it from extreme conditions.
